The function of low VF Schottky diodes is the same as that of conventional Schottky diodes. The only difference between them is lower forward voltage drop and higher efficiency. It is widely used in switching power supply, inverter, driver and other circuits. It can be used as high frequency, low voltage, high current rectifier diode, freewheeling diode and protection diode, or as rectifier diode and small signal detector diode in microwave communication circuit.
The advantage of low VF is that it can improve the conversion efficiency of power supply with lower power loss. For example, the conventional Schottky voltage drop of 45V is 0.58v, and the conversion efficiency of power supply is 88%; while the Schottky voltage drop of low voltage drop is 0.42v, and the conversion efficiency of power supply is 92%, which can improve the conversion efficiency of power supply by 4%. Therefore, improving the conversion efficiency of power supply and energy saving and reducing energy consumption are the biggest advantages and differences.
